Traveling Better by Traveling Smarter
There’s a really interesting article on Ubertramping the Web about 10 Tips for a Better Travel Experience. I couldn’t agree more.
A lot of the tips might fall under the “simple traveling” category of the simple living movement - things like: slow down, travel light, walk the path less trodden. Think more about quality, not quantity. Is it worth it to visit 10 cities in 10 days if you can’t remember which was which? Wouldn’t it be better to visit one city for ten days and savor it, get to know the ins and outs of the city, maybe even meet some of the people who live there? Not to mention being able to stay in one hotel the whole time instead of constantly packing and unpacking and taking trains and buses and whatnot to get from city to city. Wouldn’t you rather be tired out by actual experiences than by all the travel from place to place?
